I want to adopt a cat
Step 1. Read the profiles on our website
Are you looking for an energetic and playful kitten, or a smoochy older cat who is happy to sit on your lap for hours every day?
Our profiles will help you get to know the personality of each of our cats and find the perfect match for both you and your forever kitty.

Step 2. Visit Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre to meet the animal
Whether you’ve found an animal on our site you’d like to meet, or you’re not sure which animal to choose, you should come to visit us at 20 Owen Street, Glendenning NSW.
Please make note of the animal's impound number for staff reference if you have a particular animal you would like to meet.
Step 3. Meet and greet with animal
A friendly Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre staff member will assist you with a meet and greet and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
We encourage you to spend time at our Centre with your future pet to see if you’re compatible. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s important to let us know, as another cat or kitten may be more suitable for you.
Step 4. Complete the adoption process
All dogs and cats adopted through our centre will be vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and lifetime registered. We’ll guide you through the paperwork process to transfer the animal's microchip and registration into your name. This information is held by the NSW database on the Pet Registry website. You can also update any microchip details online.

Step 5. Settle your new furry companion into your home
In the excitement of bringing your forever cat or kitten home, you might be disappointed or worried if they don’t settle into their new environment straight away. Give them time to explore at their own pace and soon they’ll will be part of your household.
